About Rocky Top
Rocky Top is much more than it appears. At first glance the exterior may have you thinking it is a quaint, small cabin. But once you step inside you will discover a five-bedroom, three-bathroom cabin rental accommodating up to eleven guests comfortably. If you enjoy outdoors, this cabin will be top of your list. Offering prime outdoor seating and cozy, open common areas, Rocky Top is the perfect location to spend quality time hanging out with friends or loved ones for any occasion that brings you to the beautiful Smoky Mountains. With stunning seasonal views, you will find thick, green mountain forestry surrounding the cabin during warmer months, leaves changing colors in the fall, and uninterrupted views through the leafless trees in late fall and winter months. You may also encounter colder temperatures during the winter bringing snowy days which are absolutely breathtaking. Incredible beauty and charm can be found in each season.
Located just over one mile from the hustle and bustle of downtown Pigeon Forge, Rocky Top is an amenity-filled cabin near all the attractions, restaurants and shopping you could ever want. Be amused and thrilled with the rides at Dollywood, enjoy the hysterical show at the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Feud, and be intrigued when visiting the Castle of Chaos. Hundreds of attractions like these and a wide variety of others make it easy to keep your family and friends entertained. During downtime at the cabin, lounge around the outdoor fire pit, play foosball or billiards, or have fun rockin’ in the porch swing.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park offers a wide-array of outdoor activities and adventures such as whitewater rafting on the Pigeon River, horseback riding in Cades Cove, and ziplining high in the treetops. This federally protected, untouched bit of nature in the Smokies is idyllic and if you don’t want to explore on foot, you can take scenic drives along Newfound Gap Road before heading back to your cabin’s comfy couches, cozy beds, and soothing hot tub.
As soon as you arrive you will be tempted to sink into one of the cozy sofas or chairs. In between exploring all the area has to offer, use this comfortable living space to spend downtime with your favorite book, surfing the net in search of your next excursion, or warming up by the fireplace. If you rest best by watching television, tilt the large, mounted flat screen television to face either side of the fireplace, grab a blanket and cozy up to watch your favorite, movie, show or sporting event and let others in your group manage the grilling of your lunch or dinner. The large sectional sofa will be the center of attention and the sought after gathering spot for guests to lounge, gather around the coffee table for a game of cards or play a board game. You can also declare a competitive night and challenge everyone to a foosball tournament.
The fully-equipped kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and cookware you will need to easily easily prepare large breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Take your time rising from your cozy bed in the morning and leisurely make your way to the kitchen to brew some coffee before sauntering outside to enjoy the relaxing wooded views from the porch. If you have leftovers from all your big and delicious meals in Pigeon Forge, pop them in the microwave to easily reheat for a quick snack. If you are wanting to create a family meal, you will appreciate the more than adequate counter space for meal preparation or setting up a self-serve buffet.
Toast to good times with family and friends under the soft light of the chandelier and enjoy a heartwarming dinner. There’s seating for eight guests around the wood table, a comfortable spot to relax and break bread after busy days playing in Pigeon Forge and hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
After the sun has set, and your guests are settling in, pull out a deck of cards and play a rousing game that will have everyone bonding and laughing into the wee hours of the night. If you want to catch-up and reminisce about old times with friends, indulge in the dessert you brought home from The Old Mill Restaurant and sit at the table as you reconnect. The dinner table is a staple of Southern living, so sit and enjoy one another’s company long after the meals are over.
With five bedrooms everyone should have their own space to claim as their own. The main level has two private suites with queen-size beds. The lower level features three-bedrooms, one room offers two twin-size beds and the other two rooms offer king-size beds. All three bedrooms on the lower level share a convenient bathroom making it easy for groups to get ready anytime of day. If you are wanting a little escape from the group it is easy to close the bedroom door, pull the covers up and flip on the television for some “me” time. Once you are awake or re-energized, get ready to head out for an evening of dining and fun in Pigeon Forge.
The game room is great entertainment for adults or children. Stay busy playing authentic arcade games or rack up the balls and play a game of billiards. If you are waiting for others to get ready you can work on your own game, or invite a few guests down for a game before you head out for the evening. If the weather should turn rainy or cold, you have the perfect entertainment solution to make everyone happy at Rocky Top.
No doubt, one of Rocky Top’s most impressive features is the outdoor space! In the early mornings of spring watch the wildlife begin their day as you sip on your tea or coffee while sitting on the covered deck, or sit on the porch swing and listen to the birds sing their morning songs. Enjoy indian summers by cooking out on the charcoal grill and waiting kick-off time of your favorite team. At night after the sun has set, gather around the fire pit to make s’mores, drink hot chocolate and watch the flames dance in the dark.
If you decide to stay back while others are off exploring, head outside to enjoy the fresh mountain air while reading a good book. When your group returns from an exhausting, but exhilarating day of hiking through the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains National Park, invite them to soothe tired muscles in the therapeutic bubbles of the outdoor hot tub and together you all can enjoy secluded wooded views on the back deck.
